Betrayed

I have been in a constant battle in protecting my territory. No, I’m not talking about Philippines vs China’s dispute over Scarborough Shoal or the Spratly Island. I am pertaining to my house deck and defending it against pooping adversaries.

Few posts ago, I told you that I have a new guardian on my deck (see previous post). I have high hopes that this sentinel would keep my deck doo-doo free.

But barely two weeks after I commissioned my guard, it failed me.

When I walked out on my deck, I saw this (photo below). Nooooo!

Did my sentry turned a blind eye at the perpetrator? Did they connived against me?

I felt betrayed.

After further inspection, I found out that my guard ran out of energy. I know it is solar powered, but maybe it did not charge enough, as we had a couple of rainy and cloudy days. So I brought it inside and ’empowered’ it by connecting it to an electric outlet.

Few minutes later, the owl started turning its head, its eyes started flashing, and it was hooting again.

I’m giving this owl sentinel a second chance. I deployed it back to duty.

Will it allow my enemies to desecrate, or more aptly defecate, on my domain again? Will it betray me again?

Next time will be the firing squad. I mean, I’ll say “you’re fired!”
