You cannot talk about something (intelligently, at least), that you know nothing about. But the reverse is not true. For you can talk on and on and on (and on, and on…… OK enough already!) about nothing. You don’t believe me?
As they say, talk is cheap. Making sense is not. Some people talk as if they are saying something, but in reality they really have nothing to say. They may sound intelligently too. With gazillion bloggers in the web, and every one can have a website (or can even have two or three, why not even four or five?), we are inundated with millions of blogs, articles, and write-ups everyday. And that is just on the web. There are more chatter in the airwaves (radio and TV) and print media (newspapers, magazines, and books). Yes, there are even shows that pride themselves of being a show about nothing.
And yet, we read, listen, and watch them. I guess we have nothing better to do.
I woke up this morning, went to the gym, ate breakfast, did not go to work (it’s Sunday!), ate lunch at noon, read a little bit, took a nap, ate dinner in the evening, wrote this blog, and will sleep tonight. I am awake during the day (or I think I am, dreaming while awake is possible, right?) and asleep at night. The sun rose in the east, and set in the west. Today is a day after yesterday, and a day before tomorrow.
The world is round, the sky is wide and the ocean is big. (You don’t need to be a Columbus to know that.) Roses are red, and violets are blue. Wait, violets should be violets, right? Like oranges are orange.
When I type on my computer keyboard, I know that N, is between B and M; and O is between I and P; T is in the middle of R and Y; H is between G and J; I is above K and below 8; N is again between B and M; and G is above B and below T. Go ahead, check your keyboard.
When I try to call someone on my phone I know that 8 is below 5 which is below 2, which is on the right of 1, which is above 4, which is above 7, which also bears the letter PRQZ, and is above *. Confused already?
If you are still reading up to this point (as you are now my captive audience), which is already more than 400 words, you may be asking what is my point? And that is my point exactly!
I believe I just proved it to you, for this is a talk about nothing.
“Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense.” — Robert Frost
P.S. By the way, if you are wondering what I spelled on my keyboard: it’s NOTHING.
Another P.S. “To talk much and arrive nowhere is the same as climbing a tree to catch a fish” — Chinese Proverb (I have to add this, as I felt guilty I wasted 3 minutes of your time.)
Ahhh…errr…speechless ako. ๐

Ayos din ito…Ahhh ano nga ba yun? Naalala ko tuloy yung sabi ni Lao Tzu…”Doing nothing is better than being busy doing nothing.” Lalo yata ako napilipit.
Tama ka diyan. Paano na lang yung mga nasa gobyernong “busy doing nothing”? Sana sila ang mapilipit.
whehehe… owki. meron akong quote na naalaala, parang ganito – “Not all who write add to human knowledge. Some actually subtract from it.” ๐
