Alam kong hahantong sa ganito,
Hindi sa dahil hindi ko napagtanto,
Ngunit kahit pilitin ko mang itanggi,
Tuloy pa rin itong mangyayari.
Yakapin man kita nang mahigpit,
Hihilagpus ka pa rin sa aking bisig,
At ayaw man kitang bitiwan,
Takda ka pa ring lilisan.
Tinangay na nga ba ng kahapon,
O tinalikuran na ng panahon,
At wari bang ako’y iyo nang iniwan,
Sigabo ng aking kalakasan.
Habang sa salamin aking pinagmamasdan,
Ang anino na nasa aking harapan,
Anyo at kasagsagan ng kasiglahan,
Ay bakas na lamang ng nakaraan.
Ngunit hindi ko dapat ipagluksa,
Kun’di dapat pa ngang ipagsaya,
Kaibigan, minsan nating pinagsamahan,
Kaya’t paalam na, o aking kabataan.
(*thoughts as I hit half century of life; an ode, or maybe a eulogy, to my lost youth)
50 years old?
Yup, I was already walking on earth when the first man walked on the moon.
Life begins at 50. Hehe 🙂
I’ve read that the blessings of old age is to make you long for the real home where the almighty and the most compassionate father is waiting. The sundial kept dialing and in the process we are certainly forced to give up the vanities …. The wheels on the sky kept on turning.
“The wheel in the sky keeps on turning”……are you referring to prophet Ezekiel’s vision or is this lyrics from the song from the 80’s band Journey? 🙂
I guess I’m referring to both, When we are born we have the gift of time, we use it either wisely or squander the God given gift. Some are fortunate to be octogenarian or nonagenarian some has unfinished life like the boy King 👑 King Edward VI of England. Somehow God knows whom he will allow to live longer and knows which life need to be cut shorter. I wish you to have longer life and strength to continue serving mankind with God’s grace.
