Thirteen.
That’s how many years this blog has been in existence.
Most people consider this number as unlucky and try to avoid it as much as possible. Many buildings don’t have13th floor or 13th room. Even our hospital don’t have ICU room 13. But I cannot skip this specific year.
There was a story of a 13 year old boy in England who was struck by a lightning on Friday the 13th (just like today). Guess what time he was struck? It was 13:13! But I would look at this as being extremely lucky rather than unlucky, for except for minor burns he lived and recovered completely. So maybe this number is not that unlucky.
Let us look back at the events that happened 13 years ago:
Avatar was just released, and today we have the second episode of the Avatar movie. 13 years ago Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were rumored to be dating, but that relationship did not age well. It was year 2010 when Meghan Markle had a guest appearance in CSI: Miami, now the public is so tired with all the Meghan and Harry exposé. Also in 2010 the swine flu pandemic sent masses into panic; today, who cares about the swine flu when we have to deal with the horrendous COVID pandemic? See how much have changed in the past 13 years.
However, what has not changed is that I am still writing and keeping this blog alive. I am thankful for all you readers for continuing to follow and visit this site. I hope that I can stay relevant after all these years.
Of course I cannot stop at 13. I need to continue and go past this number. And I am not being superstitious.
