Basag na Umaga

There are English passages that can get lost in translation when transitioned to our native tongue. Here’s an example:

I opened my sleepy eyelids,

Through the curtains the light peeps,

Awakened by the sound of chirping,

Morning has broken indeed.

Iminulat inaantok kong mata,

Si Liwanag sumisilip sa kurtina,

Sa mga taratitat ako’y nabulabog,

Nasira na ang umaga.
