As I alluded in my last post, we are eating healthier these days, which I believe has been instrumental to my healing. Sticking to this lifestyle change needs resolution and for us to let go of preconceived notions.
Healthy food does not mean difficult food preparation. It involves simple cooking without sacrificing good taste. Just looking at the photo below, makes me salivate already.

We learned not to be shy to splash more color (not artificial though) in our food. In fact the more assortment of colors, the better. We go nuts for nuts too.

We developed boldness to gulp down a combination of deep green and dark red drink (freshly squeezed from vegetables and fruits). Yes, even if it looks radioactive. That what makes us “glow.”

We accepted not to be deterred to limit white rice. I know this is hard for Filipinos like us, for we love “unli” rice. But there are countless variety of grains (like the one below), that are more nutritious substitute for white rice.

Lastly, we learned not to be afraid to eat a lot of beans and different kinds of it. Besides being a good source of energy and protein, beans make you walk faster too. How? By jet-propulsion as you release gas! Huh?

My wife and I are both plant-based eaters and yes we’re not afraid to eat lots of beans (and nuts). Along with physical exercise, this lifestyle change has helped me reverse my diabetes (my endocrinologist says I no longer have diabetes but that his medical society forbids him to say so 😅). It has also helped me recover from a near-critical case of Covid and multiple organ failure. Recently my doctor said I have excellent marks in all my lab tests. Most of all it is a miracle from God that I am still alive after my Covid journey. Faith in Him played a big part in all these. (Leo)
That’s great! There’s plenty of medical/scientific data to support plant based diet and other healthy lifestyle, but the mainstream medical community is slow to embrace and vouch for it. Imagine what will happen to the multimillion dollar pharmaceutical and medical business, if people will need less medicines or hospitalization anymore. That’s why.
What you said regarding the pharma industry is also what a few doctors whom we follow online and who are vouching for a plantbased diet are saying. (And most of them happen to be followers of Christ.) It seems it is really tough to go agaisnt the tide but we pray that the Lord will increase more of your tribe. Mabuhay kayo!
I’m not exactly a plant-based eater yet but getting there. I still eat fish and a little meat. Do you mind if I ask what the diet heal you from?
I had a small tumor in my prostate, and it disappeared. You can read the whole story in the last part of my post “Journey to Healing.” Thanks for reading.
Really?
