Few weeks ago, I told you that we found a bird’s nest in the topiary plant on our front porch (see previous post here).
For the birds not to be afraid since they picked a spot with heavy traffic of people, we tried our best to give them some space so they will not abandon their nest. That means we avoided going out through our front door and we use the garage door instead. We even told our visitors to go through our garage door as well. We don’t hang out and sit on our porch even if its already summer and the weather is nice.

Though once in a while we would peek at the nest to check if the eggs have hatched. And it did! We now have little birdies in our front porch.
It looks like those little ones are hungry. Makes their parents busy scrambling for food, for sure. Should we leave a kaldero of rice in our porch?

We are hoping that those little ones will mature and survive. We are wishing that they will be safe from the squirrels and raccoons in our area, and would not end up as their dinner. We even have a fox that roams our yard, which by the way makes my wife silently happy as the fox keeps the rabbits who eats her plants, at bay.
Come to think of it, our neighbor’s cat would once in while wander around our lot too. I hope those birdies would not say, “I tawt, I taw a puddy tat!”
Maybe in another couple of weeks, those birdies will be able to fly out of that nest, and we can reclaim our front porch.
Will that mean we will be empty nesters again?
Here’s a short video:
Oh wow! This is amazing!
Looked like they were waiting for you to feed them 😂
We’re tempted to feed it with fried rice, because catching a worm is too messy. 🙂
How about minced meat? 😁
They’d probably eat insects and caterpillars! They’re so cute 🤩
